TRAINER PROFILES
Alexandra Longworth
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (with Honours), Masters of Business Administration, Graduate Diploma Psychology, Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors
Alex is our in-house physiotherapist with a love of fitness and a passion for helping others achieve their health and wellbeing goals. She has a background in athletics and long distance running and more recently pilates and group fitness. Alex brings a strong mix of practical fitness experience as well as a sound physiotherapy evidence base to the programming team. When Alex is not training with TRL FIT, she is working as a Project Director at UQ and wrangling her 4 young kids.
James Penny
Cert III & Cert IV in Fitness; Kettlebell Fundamentals L1; Olympic Weightlifting L1; Recreational Running L1
James (or Jimmy as he prefers to be called) is a fitness fanatic and an avid triathlete. He draws upon his own knowledge and experience to motivate others and is particularly passionate about the TRL FIT community (which he has helped build from inception).
Angela McDonald
Bachelor of Exercise Science
In addition to her passion for group training, Angela has also been working in cardiac diagnostics for over 6 years and has a Bachelor of Exercise Science. She has been involved in a variety of different sports as well as triathlons.
Harrison Scott
Bachelor of Exercise Science/Bachelor of Business Management
In addition to being a Trainer, Harrison is a Cardiac Scientist and is used to exploring hearts (usually unhealthy ones) but loves to test out people’s healthy hearts at TRL FIT.
Michael Smith
Cert III & Cert IV in Fitness
Michael has over 10 years experience in the Fitness industry via his own Business, Accomplish Fitness. He has a background in Rugby League having come through the Newcastle Knights development system. He has used this high-performance experience to mould and craft his own approach to group training.
